Happy New Year to All of You!
It's already been a year since I founded Local Changemakers and said goodbye to Pimp My Village.
I look back on a wonderful year, having given many interesting masterclasses to diaspora and Dutch foundations, increased visibility for diaspora projects in Africa, and moderated several events.

This year, I'll also be joining the Local Changemakers Consultancy, through which I advise diaspora organizations and help them improve their visibility, fundraising, governance, project management, and storytelling.

Hopefully, this will allow me to further contribute to Locally Led Development, where projects are initiated by local people and we share and exchange knowledge with organizations and experts from the "North."



I was reading this post about Local Changemakers news and it made me think about how much good work and effort goes into supporting communities and making real impacts on the ground. Seeing all the projects and people involved reminds me of how much organisation and planning it takes to get meaningful results, and then I suddenly remembered I’ve got my own coursework and deadlines waiting.
